Rimonabant (also known as Zimulti, Acomplia, Slimona or Obitone) works as an anorectic weight loss drug. It is a CB1 cannabinoid sensor resister in nerve cells. Rimonabant has been developed to stop food craving which sufficiently to help people lose body weight, and could also help to control other un-healthy desires, such as used to control smoking. One of the research have shown that Rimonabant helped subjects who were over-weight lose about 20 pounds weight on average, and was discovered to be very helpful for patients who suffer from obesity problems.

Research have reported that, of those taking 20 mg pills of Rimonabant, over one third lost over 12% of their body weight, while over 60% lost over 7%. On average, the subjects' waist sizes are measured to have reduced in between 6 to 9 cm (about 3 to 4 inches).
• Rimonabant inhibits the same brain area that make people feel hungry when they smoke cannabis.
• Patients in these clinical trials also showed improved glucose control, cholesterol and triglyceride measurements from blood fats. These medical research show improvements of beyond what is expected from ordinary weight loss. For this reason, Rimonabant is believed to have good effects for human body on these aspects.

Does Rimonabant also aid smoking cessation?

Clinical trials have shown that heavy smokers, after being on a regular supplement of Rimonabant, have stopped smoking altogether. Smokers usually do not stop smoking for fear of weight-gain, which can be highly discouraging. However since Rimonabant works on the overeating and smoking factors simultaneously such problems wouldn't arise.
